So the Easter Show was a success this year. Ridiculously expensive and super tiring, but so very worth it.

So it’s mine and Mark’s SIX year anniversary today.
To help demonstrate just how long that really is, here’s a super old photo of us at a friend’s 21st (it was a 70’s/80’s fancy dress, just fyi). This was taken approximately six months after we started officially dating.
We were such baaaaaabies.
And now? I guess we’re still babies. But we’ve spent six amazing years together so far, growing and learning together, and I’m looking forward to a lifetime more of that beside him.
Leaving the really sappy stuff for his card, but honestly. Loving this boy more and more every damn day. So so so so lucky.

I have no idea where we’re going or what we’re doing. He told me to dress ‘nice but not too fancy’. Trying desperately to look pretty without overdoing it. Hence the floral flats. I think I’ve pulled off a decent balance.
Pretty nervous. Wish me luck! Haha.

So I was having a pretty awful afternoon today.
Then Mark sent me this photo with the caption, “MUAHAHAHAHA!”
It didn’t make my problems go away, but it sure did put a smile on my face.

u are beyond gorgeous, if u dont have a boyfriend who cherishes the ground you walk on and gives you every bit of attention you ever need, then you are not getting what you deserve. if you were my girl i would treat you like a princess every day of your life.

Oh, wow anon. That’s very, very sweet. Thank you. You just put a lovely smile on my face.
But in saying that? Being treated like a princess every day would get kind of old, don’t you think? Don’t get me wrong. My boyfriend treats me very well. He’s respectful and caring and always tries his best to make me smile when I’m sad.
But he also challenges me. He doesn’t take my crap and stupidity - which there is a lot of, because let’s face it, I’m not perfect. He calls me out on my bullshit when necessary. He helps me learn something new about myself all the time; he helps me grow and become a better person.
I think if he worshipped the ground I walked on and thought I could do no wrong then I’d end up being a pretty self-entitled bitch who thinks way too highly of herself. He keeps me grounded, he keeps me real. And I think that’s a million times better, don’t you?
